About us

We are a local public-private partnership led by Women Encouraging Empowerment, MGH/Revere Cares, The Neighborhood Developers, and the City of Revere focused on supporting inclusive economic development in the Shirley Ave neighborhood. To us that means economic growth that benefits or provides opportunities to people currently living and working in the community.

Our collaboration in the neighborhood is being “boosted” by participation in MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative, a program for Gateway Cities designed to accelerate economic growth within focused districts. Participation in the TDI program brings a specific set of resources and funding to the neighborhood which pair with partner organization resources as well as local, state, and private funding and assistance. Our goal with this webpage and our community engagement is to help neighborhood stakeholders to access all of these opportunities and through collective action to advance local priorities. This means we’re here to help you all the way from business planning, tenant recruitment, or the idea stage of a community art project through finding appropriate funding sources or partners, and beyond: into project implementation.

One of our goals is to stabilize, retain, and grow small businesses while cultivating new entrepreneurs.

We’re working to retain the multicultural, mixed- income, and family-friendly identity of the neighborhood.

Our work together aims to engage community members in actionable planning, implement local economic development initiatives, and spur further public and private investment.

Our partnership is always growing and our community engagement always ongoing.
